January has been a very wet month and erosion control is a project priority. It is important to manage the movement of sediment within the work area. Silt fences around the project area are carefully maintained and monitored to prevent sediment from leaving the project area. Erosion control blankets and sediment tubes line ditches to prevent the movement of sediment along the ditch. Hydro-seeding with a mixture of grass and fertilizer will soon sprout to slow movement of sediment down the embankment slopes.
